Creative inspiration for young minds. 30 to 50 minute writing workshops for maximum 35 students with class teacher present. Includes telling stories and ideas on how to write great stories. The group will "write" a story together. As the author, Hayley provides plenty of interaction and student participation in the workshop and a colouring in / puzzle sheet for the participants at the end of the school visit.
Inspire your creative writing. This 90 minute writing workshop for small groups (maximum 30 students) will provide students with creative ideas to spark their imaginations. Students will discuss plots, creating characters, and writing dialogue in stories. They will each write a story and receive author feedback and tips to improve their writing. At the end of the school visit, each participant in the writing workshops will receive a small gift from the author.
Give your school's top writers a boost with a fun, creative and unforgettable day of writing workshops. This course allows students to delve deeper into the tools authors use to create original and exciting stories. Course includes plotting, creating characters, using dialogue, setting the scene, using timelines, using descriptions, complex sentence and paragraph structure and writing for an audience. Students will write up to two stories and will receive author feedback and tips to improve their writing skills. All participants will receive a small gift from the author at the end of the school visit.
Author does a school visit in an assembly format. Can include puppet shows and interactive content for students to participate in writing group stories, depending on number and ages of students. Each attendee will receive a small gift from the author.
This is a fun presentation for younger students (kindergarten to Year 2) which includes puppet interactions, two or three stories being read aloud and some fun interactions about why we love books. Each participant receives a small gift from the author at the end of the school visit. Maximum 30 minutes.
Years 3 to 6 will love this fun, upbeat presentation that shows students that to be a good author, you have to be a great reader too. It includes three or four stories being read aloud and some excerpts from famous and classic books. Encourages students to love books and reading for pleasure. Maximum 45 minutes. Each student will receive a small gift from the author at the end of the school visit.
