When I was a young girl, I had a crazy dog that ate a lemon tree (the whole tree) and caught a bus (he came home with the bus's numberplate in his mouth). I've always loved telling stories with a quirky feel or an unexpected twist, especially if they are true. Real life is often far more unexpected than fiction writers can get with in books.
I started my writing career as a journalist and I still write articles for magazines sometimes. I've always loved writing and communication in many ways. I've worked as a journalist, a marketing manager, a technical writer and a trainer until I left paid employment to care for my elderly mother-in-law who has dementia.
I try to write stories about real people, even if the situations they find themselves in are make believe. I have four published short stories:
* Rescuing the Refugees and The Most Amazing Place in the World - published in the Creative Kids Tales Story Collection Vol 1 and
* The Enchanted Bed and The Midnight Pool - published in the Creative Kids Tales Story Collection Vol 2.
I'm currently working on a chapter book series featuring autistic children who solve mysteries and several picture books.
As a children's author, I have 4 published stories in Creative Kids Tales Anthologies 1 and 2. I am working on picture books and middle grade fiction which explore issues like children with autism and relationships that might be different, such as living with a grandmother who has dementia.
For many years, I have been a successful freelance writer and website content and blog writer for businesses. With a degree in communication and experience as a journalist and a marketing manager, I bring a depth of knowledge to my writing. I love using the written word to communicate with an audience.
